Well, Richard was already polishing his convertible, but true to form Rosslanders awoke this morning to 15 cm of fresh powder and there was a steady stream of cars heading to the mountain by 8:30. We are rarely disappointed here at Red, and today was no exception…we found freshies all the over the mountain and there was hooting and hollering as thrilled powder hounds wound their way through the trees on Booties, Paleface, and the Shoulder. My skiing companions, Shane and Nykayla (part of the growing community who live right here at the base of the mountain) and I barely stopped to catch our breath in an effort to get in as many runs as possible before I had to come to work. I would love to have pictures to post, but there was no time for that! In our excitement we made one bad call and found ourselves on some cliffs, (hence the name Paleface), but there was so much snow, we were able to “survival ski” our way out of it without incident. Nothing can get you down on a day like today! It is still “puking” (ski town lingo for “snowing very hard”) and already I am dreaming of tomorrow and which run to hit first….Sorry Richard, you’ll have to wait a bit longer to put the top down…
