We have received just over 1m of snow since Christmas day. The ski hill and cross country trails are in great shape. I went for a cross country ski at Redstone Golf course today, the sun was shining and we skied up the 18th fairway to the pump house on 17 and back to the car, we had to break trail lots but it was a good workout for the day. I have posted a few photos taken on Sunday 28th, from downtown to the mountains.

The snow keeps coming.....
Posted January 1st, 2009 by brookeSnow Has Finally Arrived
Posted December 26th, 2008 by richardWe have been waiting for the snow to pile up on Red for what seems like an eternity this year. The patches of rock and alder on the face of Red are disappearing and it looks like all the anxiety and praying has finally paid off. The last week or two have been good to us, especially the last 2 days we have received 50cm of snow, taking the alpine base to 98cm. Certainly not a record start to the season, but enough to get the lifts running and some of the runs open.
Going back 9 years.
Posted December 26th, 2008 by richardWith all the ups and downs in our current global market conditions it’s hard to believe that things like oil prices could swing from $150 a barrel with no end in sight only to see + or – $40 a barrel just 6 months later. I was paying just over $100 to fill my truck a few months ago and last week the same fill up at the same station was less than $35. I even found Christmas shopping seemed to be so much less expensive this year.

International Battle at the Border
Posted September 25th, 2008 by richardWell we just wrapped up another very successful “International Battle at the Border” golf Tournament. The tournament was held here in Rossland. The reason I stressed “very successful” is because after 3 years of the annual tourneys the Canadian contingent has finally bought the trophy home. Check out some of the pictures.
Seven Summits Events
Posted September 14th, 2008 by sueLast weekend saw many locals and visitors tough it out on the Seven Summits, one of the epic trails in BC. Saturday was the trail run event in which competitors (or crazy people as I like to think of them) run a 26 km stretch of the well known Seven Summits trail. I met a fellow from Richmond, Washington who came up to participate, and after the run he still had the energy to stroll around town and even dropped in on the open house I was hosting in downtown Rossland!

Summer of Golf
Posted July 26th, 2008 by sueSo, I decided to take up golf this summer after a 6 year hiatus. To be honest, I was never a golfer, I just went out to have fun with friends and whack the ball around the course. Living in Rossland now, and being only minutes from the fabulous Redstone Resort Golf Course has changed all that!
