Last weekend saw many locals and visitors tough it out on the Seven Summits, one of the epic trails in BC. Saturday was the trail run event in which competitors (or crazy people as I like to think of them) run a 26 km stretch of the well known Seven Summits trail. I met a fellow from Richmond, Washington who came up to participate, and after the run he still had the energy to stroll around town and even dropped in on the open house I was hosting in downtown Rossland!

Summer of Golf
Posted July 26th, 2008 by sueSo, I decided to take up golf this summer after a 6 year hiatus. To be honest, I was never a golfer, I just went out to have fun with friends and whack the ball around the course. Living in Rossland now, and being only minutes from the fabulous Redstone Resort Golf Course has changed all that!
Summer has come to Rossland!
Posted July 3rd, 2008 by sueThe dog days of summer are upon us once again, but fortunately the drink cart is back on the golf course at Redstone to save the day! June 17th was a great evening for ladies who golf as I hosted the weekly ladies night event at Redstone Golf course. Almost 60 women turned out to play and win some fabulous prizes! My foursome even had a pretty good outing, but I won’t tell you the scores…it was good for us!
Summer is here!
Posted June 17th, 2008 by sueWell, it seems summer has finally come to Rossland! After the snow and rain stopped last week we managed to get our 9 holes in for Ladies Night, but it was a small group of apparent die-hards that met in the Redstone clubhouse for hot drinks afterwards. Tonight will be very different, with temperatures in the 20’s and blue skies overhead. Make sure you come out as I am sponsoring the event and there will be terrific prizes and lots of comic entertainment for whichever group gets to golf behind me! Look for pictures and stories tomorrow!

Ladies night at Redstone Golf Course
Posted May 22nd, 2008 by sueAll you fabulous women out there in Rossland and Trail, polish your golf clubs because Tuesday June 10th is Ladies Night sponsored by me! It will be a fun filled evening of golf and laughs and excellent prizes! Hopefully I will get a chance to get out and practice before then…we have been rained out twice now and my golf swing could use some work (to put it mildly). Good golfer or not, come out and enjoy the spectacular course at Redstone, and maybe you will go home with a great prize!
Spring showers in the mountains!
Posted May 20th, 2008 by sueSpring is in full bloom here at Red Mountain! We have just had an incredible long weekend of sun to get flowers blooming and hungry bears on the prowl. That’s right, denning season is over and the bears are back! My golden retriever did his job this weekend keeping them out of the backyard, but here at the mountain they get to roam with abandon. The Kootenays look amazing as the trees suddenly turned green and the tulips exploded with colour!
Spring Skiing at Red Mountain!
Posted March 25th, 2008 by sueThe sun is shining and Paradise Lodge is the place to be this week at Red Mountain!
Spring Powder Day!
Posted March 15th, 2008 by sueWell, Richard was already polishing his convertible, but true to form Rosslanders awoke this morning to 15 cm of fresh powder and there was a steady stream of cars heading to the mountain by 8:30. We are rarely disappointed here at Red, and today was no exception…we found freshies all the over the mountain and there was hooting and hollering as thrilled powder hounds wound their way through the trees on Booties, Paleface, and the Shoulder.
